PHP function realpath
This function returns the absolute pathname of a given path.
Syntax realpath
dir is a given path
realpath(dir);
Note
This function will removed all the symbolic links (i.e '/./', '/../' and extra '/') and returns its absolute path.
Example 1
<?php chdir('/etc/apache2/'); echo realpath('./../../etc/hosts'); echo '<br/>'; echo realpath('./../../etc/rsyslog.conf'); ?>
Output
/etc/hosts /etc/rsyslog.conf
