PHP function fgetc

This function returns a single character from a file open.

Syntax fgetc

  • file: file handler name.
fgetc(file);

Note

This function is pretty slow compares to fgets() function, and it is not suggested for a larger file. If you want to read a single character at a time, you are better use fgets() function to read a single line at a time. After than you can manipulate the line.
