PHP function fseek
This function seeks in a file pointer.
Syntax fseek
- handle: a file pointer, usually created by fopen().
- where: the offset
- whence (optional):
- SEEK_SET - Sets position equal to offset. Default
- SEEK_CUR - Sets position to current location plus offset
- SEEK_END - Sets position to EOF plus offset (to move to a position before EOF, the offset must be a negative value)
fseek(handle, where, whence);
Note
If you have opened the file in append (a or a+) mode, any data you write to the file will always be appended, regardless of the file position, and the result of calling fseek() will be undefined.
Return
Upon success, returns 0; otherwise, returns -1.
